October 31st is approaching fast. Again. Every year actually. Time to revisit my Halloween post.
If you ever run out of ideas, here is a great list of 50 little stories where you have to decide if they are true or urban legends. Not only good around Halloween, but a topic in its own right.
If you have a Netflix account, browse for Halloween movies and rewatch old classics like the Addams Family.
The Shining, also worth re-watching around Halloween, is considered to be one of the best Stephen King adaptations. For those who know the movie, there are some fun Sporcle quizzes related to various aspects of the film.
Here is a little selection of more fun stuff to do.
Some Sporcle quizzes:
Halloween Vocabulary – this one covers a lot of Halloween related history and culture; good to start the topic with. Follow this with some material from the History Channel (link below) and you have a perfect lesson. With a less advanced group you might want to prepare some to the vocabulary from texts or videos. The videos are short and the narrator speaks clearly. I always recommend listening more than once. The first time for the general gist of the story and a second (or third) time for more detailed content. I sometimes prepare a list of comprehension questions.

Underneath each sporcle quiz you find a list of more.
And here you find loads of background information and additional articles around the holiday from the History Channel: Halloween
